About the Scholarship
The Tremper Class of 1971 Scholarship shall be used to help graduating students at Tremper High School with their academic plans to attend accredited four or two-year colleges or technical schools.
The alumni of the Tremper High School Class of 1971 created a scholarship awards program for Tremper graduating seniors in 2011 at their 40th Class Reunion.
The Kenosha Community Foundation in cooperation with the Tremper Class of 1971 Scholarship Committee presently distributes the awards.
Scholarships are awarded to seniors attending Tremper High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin who plan to attend a two or four-year college or technical school at an accredited institution as a full or part-time student.
Tremper High School seniors with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or above are eligible to apply for the four-year college awards. Tremper seniors with a 2.00 GPA or above are eligible to apply for the two-year college or technical school award. Eligible students may attend their academic institutions of choice on a full or part-time basis.
Award Term and Amount
Awards will be a one-time scholarship. Two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors planning to attend a four year accredited college or university. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who plans to attend a two year accredited college or technical school. Recipients must submit documentation for the required GPA of 2.75 for the completed fall college or technical school semester as well as proof of re-enrollment for the spring semester prior to receiving their monetary awards. The award winners will have one year to submit college documentation to collect the scholarship; awards will be forfeited if documents are not received during that time.
Students will submit an application to the Class of 71 Scholarship Committee by a deadline set by the committee. The Class of 71 Scholarship Committee will select recipients each spring and announce the award winners at the Tremper convocation.
NOTE: The Kenosha Community Foundation will announce when applications for the scholarship are available and the date they are due.
