A Life Remembered

Remebering Robert Schneider

On November 30, 2020, we were saddened and heartbroken to report the passing of our long-time Executive Director, Robert Schneider. While we mourn the loss of a great community leader and humanitarian, be assured that Bob’s wisdom, grace, humor, caring, ingenuity, and innovative spirit have forever changed how the Foundation functions.

Anyone who got to know Bob quickly learned of his love of two things – his family and music. While he enjoyed opera and classical, he held special passions for modern jazz and contemporary classical/ensemble music – two highly creative, experimental genres that challenge the listener and are constantly changing. For this reason, we have included the following quote by one of Bob’s favorites – Miles Davis – whose poster hung in Bob’s office.

“It’s not about standing still and becoming safe. If anybody wants to keep creating they have to be about change.”

Bob’s Memory Book

In October 2020, the Foundation had the honor of presenting Bob with a book that compiled photos, regards, and remembrances of Bob from members of the community. Click here to view this expression of appreciation and love for Bob.
